Aims of the course:The aim of the subject is to obtain a basic theoretical and practical knowledge of the private- law and public- law regulation on consumer protection , including the ability to apply the legal regulations to various examples from practise and justify the selected solution.
Course contents:
1.Protection of consumer health and safety (allowance 14/0)
a.Product Liability
b.General product safety
c.Safety of foods and other products
d.Advertising, legal regulation, restrictions of advertising for certain products

2.Protection of economic interests of consumers (allowance 14/0)
a.Consumer credits
b.Protection of consumer in respect of contracts negotiated away from business premises
c.Distance marketing of consumer financial services
d.Unfair competition and consumer protection

Learning outcomes and competences:
Generic competences:
-ability to apply knowledge
-ability to solve problems
-ability to work independently
-skilled at utilizing and processing information

Specific competences:
-forming of legal solution of problems by utilisation of the legal norms in forcero
-orientation in European legal environmrnt, especially for managerial activities
-skills attached to utilisation and application of lelag information
-to develop the application of Czech norms practical problem solving

Assessment methods:Course ends with a electronic test. The test consists of 30 (thirty) closed questions of the type 1 out of N or M out of N, answers assessed with 0-2 points. To close courtse student must obtain at least 32 points. Credits -required minimum participation, to obtain a defined number of points from a seminar subject test
