Aims of the course:The course is aimed to present selected legal problems on the international commercial law, with special focus on the questions concerning the international contract relations incl. contracts on sales of goods and dispute resolution, and to provide them with orientation in selected international treaties' regimes and in non-state contract template systems (such as INCOTERMS).
Course contents:
1.International trade law (allowance 8/6)
 
a.Levels of legal regulation on international trade
b.Legal regulation of commercial relations with international element incl. legal regulation inside the EU (Brussels I bis, Rome I)
c.Legal relations containing international element - contract-based, tort-based and other

2.Selected instruments of international trade (allowance 6/4)
 
a.Contract on International Sales of Goods and its direct regulation
b.INCOTERMS and their significance for an evolution of international trade

3.Selected questions of international trade law (allowance 10/2)
 
a.World Trade Organization, legal basis, its bodies, operation and significance for an evolution of international trade
b.GATT, GATS and TRIPS - three fundamental legal instruments of international trade liberalization
c.Dispute resolution for disputes with international element (judicial, arbitration and mediation/conciliatory procedures)

Generic competences:
 
-ability to understand foreign cultures and customes

-skilled at utilizing and processing information

Specific competences:
 
-forming of legal solution of problems by utilisation of the legal norms in forcero
-orientation in intermational legal environmrnt, especially for development of trading skills
-skills attached to utilisation and application of lelag information
-to develop the application of Czech norms practical problem solving
