Aims of the course:The main objective of the course is to increase knowledge of the internationalization of enterprises in the field of internationalization activities of firms, to understand the context of the international business environment and the importance of transnational corporations in a globalized world economy. In this course, students will be familiarized with the principles of the internationalization process of companies. Enters into a detailed theoretical knowledge supplemented with data from the real environment of Czech businesses through an extensive case study, based on several years of ongoing research among Czech companies in various sectors of the national economy.
Students will be able to inspect the issue comprehensively understand the problems associated with internationalization of business, from foreign markets analysis and choice of appropriate forms of entry into foreign markets, overcoming barriers to internationalization issues related to risk management internationalization process.
The subject will build on students' knowledge of bachelor and master degree - especially in the field of international management, international marketing, management and business operations will complement (deepen) knowledge of the subject of international trade. Graduates should obtain a comprehensive overview of the issue of internationalization of enterprises, which should help them in solving practical problems in decision-making processes in a company associated with any involvement with the foreign trade operations.

1.The process of internationalization (allowance 2/1)
 
a.Introduction to the issue: the development of internationalization, definition, globalization vs globalization

2.The rate of participation in the process of internationalization (allowance 10/5)
 
a.Forms of entry into foreign markets
b.Internationalization models - development, description of the models, their specifics (Uppsala model, I- model)
c.The phenomenon of "Born Globals"
d.Specifics of the internationalization of SMEs

3.Motives and barriers of the internationalization process (allowance 8/4)
 
a.Motives of the internationalization process, proactive and reactive motives, motives of Czech firms
b.Barriers of the internationalization process - dividing barriers of the internationalization - external, internal barriers

4.Risks of the internationalisation process (allowance 4/2)
 
a.Types of risks, risk measurement, assessing their significance
b.Risk management in the internationalization process

5.Internationalization process of Czech businesses (allowance 4/2)

-The student can describe the basic preparatory and implementation phase of the internationalization process of the company.

Assessment methods:Credit is a condition seminary work, which is evaluated by a maximum of 20 points and successful final test, after which the student will also receive a maximum of 20 points. Seminar work process, students in groups of three. To obtain the credit is necessary to obtain the sum of the seminar paper and final test at least 25 points. The exam consists of written and oral. For the written part student can receive a maximum of 60 points. To pass the written exam, the student must receive at least 35 points. These points are attributed to the points earned credit. Sign are assessed students from 70 to 100 points. A student who has successfully completed the written part of the exam, but gained less than 70 points, must pass oral exams.
