Aims of the course:The subject follows knowledge gained on the bachelor level studies. It is focused on general questions of business operations regardless the branch of business. The aim of the subject is to summarize complex knowledge and skills with a stress on interconnections in business economics. Students master in methodological approach to business processes investigation and they size up the specifics of economic and business sciencies studing functions of a business entity.
Course contents:
1.Business economics as a theoretical and applied science. (allowance 2/0)
a.Business models.

2.Selection of legal form of business as a decision-making problem. (allowance 2/1)
3.Objectives of a company and development of a company. (allowance 4/1)
a.Criteria of company's objectives settlement.
b.Analysis of stages of company's life cycle, their economic specifics, and decision-making in single stages.
c.Development processes.

4.Investment planning and investment decision-making. (allowance 4/4)
a.Theoretical and methodological problems of real investment projecs' evaluation.
b.Interaction of financial and investment decision-making.

5.Economic optimization. (allowance 2/2)
6.Property employment and energetic economies. (allowance 2/0)
7.Labour productivity and measument of labour productivity. (allowance 2/0)
8.Economic analyses and their functions in a business entity. (allowance 4/2)
9.Balance policy of a business entity. (allowance 2/0)
10.Value analysis of a business entity. (allowance 2/2)

Specific competences:
-Student has got the ability to choose the appropriate method for conducting economic analysis of respective business entity
-Student has got the knowledge about major methods for conducting the economic analysis of the business entity
-Student is able to apply proper methods of measurement of company processes´ performance
-Student is able to constuct the model of an economic problem.
-Student knows principles of economic equilibrium of a business entity.

Assessment methods:Study of the subject is finalized with credit and exam. In order to gain the credit, student has to pass the mid-term test at required minimum of 60 per cent. Exam is written. Results gained at the seminars are the part of final mark.
