Aims of the course:The course deepens and extends knowledge of the course Viticulture (bc). It is intended primarily for students of viticulture and winemaking
Course contents:
1.Canopy management and their influence to grape berry quality (allowance 4/3)
 
a.Importance of canopy management for grapevine physiology.
b.The importance of operation for grape quality.
c.Modern knowledge about canopy management.

2.Effect of treatment of soil in the vineyard on grape quality (allowance 4/3)
 
a.Effect of soil treatment on root system development.
b.Cover crops in the vineyard.
c.Importance for grape quality.

3.Detailed view of the biochemistry of berries. (allowance 4/2)
 
a.Changes in content of individual compounds in berries.
b.Factors that influence these changes.

4.Terroir factors and their impact on the quality of grapes (allowance 2/0)
 
a.Definition of terroir.
b.Influence of various factors on the quality of the grapes.

Assessment methods:The course is completed a written and oral exam. The written part includes answers to the three questions in the duration of 45 minutes. After passing a written test is stamped.
