Aims of the course:The objective is to familiarize students with industry related topics mentioned in the contents and explain to students the initial theoretical points, including the development of the abilities of managers for the practical application of achieved knowledge.
Course contents:
1.Introduction to management -- basic terminology, historical and current management conceptions, position of management in the firm, conception of 5 mangement functions. (allowance 2/0)
2.Managerial competencies -- manager's personality, manager abilities, types of managers, managerial roles, effective managers (allowance 2/0)
3.Managerial function: Planning - importance, planning process, types of planning, planning documents. (allowance 2/0)
4.Managerial function: Organizing -- matter of organizing, organization strutures and models, organization innovations. (allowance 2/0)
5.Managerial function: Decision making -- matter of decision making, decision making under conditions of certainty, uncertainty and risk. (allowance 2/0)
6.Managerial function: Controll -- controll as a process, content and classification of the controll, managerial controll vs. controlling. (allowance 2/0)
7.Personal management - staff assurance and development, styles and tools of staff management, motivation, evaluation and remuneration of employees. (allowance 2/0)
8.Modern approaches to management: process and project management (allowance 4/0)
9.Modern approaches to management: change management (management of inovation, reengineering, continual improvement) (allowance 2/0)
10.Modern approaches to management: management of conflicts and risks, knowledge management. (allowance 2/0)
11.Managerial methods and techniques (allowance 4/0)
