Profile of the programme:Given a two-year follow-up field study Master Furniture Engineering program is characterized by two-stage approach to active ownership of the competencies of students: the first stage, students will gain knowledge of the field properties of materials, furniture design, manufacturing processes and solutions to both visual and structural features, which in turn bind to the ability to synthesize these technical skills in the process of creating your own design and ability to tackle projects in a broader context. Occupational profile:Graduates will acquire a sound understanding of furniture making and wood-based constructions, new production components, production technologies, and design of furniture production systems. The programme also provides students with knowledge of waste management. In addition to technical education, graduates will be provided with an understanding of economic and managerial disciplines, including business economics, furniture industry management, production administration, occupational safety, quality control, production certification, testing of qualitative furniture features, export and furniture trade issues. Graduates will be aware of furniture technology innovations in the context of scientific advances. The aim of the programme is to prepare graduates for a wide range of management and business careers in furniture industry. By the end of the programme, students should be able to adopt a synthetic approach to technical and economic matters and to enhance the competitiveness of Czech furniture industry. The courses prepare students for a career in diverse areas such as management positions within furniture companies, furniture production planning, expert positions in state owned enterprises or retail chains.
Graduation requirements:Min. 120 ECTS, state final exam, defence of the master's thesis.
