Aims of the course:From basic concepts of statics, dynamics and kinematics despite the effects of loading on elements and structure to learn to design and assess component parts of buildings.
Course contents:
1.Principles of statics (allowance 5/4)
 
a.composition and decomposition of forces
b.conditions of equilibrium of forces
c.static torque

2.Static variables section (allowance 2/2)
 
a.center of gravity
b.radii and moments of inertia of composite sections
c.section modulus

3.Flexibility and strength (allowance 2/2)
 
a.tension
b.compressive stress
c.buckling, torsion, shear and bending
d.tension in eccentric pressure and stroke

4.The basic types of friction (allowance 2/2)
5.Calculation of load on structures and their assessment according to the theory of limit states (allowance 1/0)
6.Simple beam (allowance 4/4)
 
a.Simple beam design and evaluation for various types of loading

7.Load beams fixed and mobile (allowance 2/2)
8.Beam with overhanging end, cantilever beam, a system of parallel beams (allowance 2/2)
9.Beam deflection for different load types (allowance 1/2)
10.Rod systems (allowance 2/2)
11.The pressure of bulk materials, the hydrostatic pressure and combined pressure of the bearing structure (allowance 3/4)
 
a.Examination of the size of earth pressure
b.Proposal for supporting and retaining walls, and its assessment

-The ability to assess the dimension and simple design elements
-The ability to identify the basic methods and combined stress of structures and elements

Assessment methods:Each student is practicing substance in the examples throughout the semester gives 25 examples. To prepare three credit reports that include computing and graphics solutions. Class exam is divided into 2 parts. The first part is written during the semester and the second at the end. To successfully manage must have at least 70% correct for each test.
 The exam is in written form. Questions are theoretical and computational. To develop the student 60 min. To successfully manage must have at least 70% correct answers.
