Aims of the course:A comprehensive introduction to the practices used in the care of trees growing outside forest. Studying of professional continuity necessary for rational design, implementation and control of Tree service treatment.
Course contents:
1.Development of technological processes in tree care - changing view of care for urban forest. (allowance 2/2)
2.Environmental requirements for trees, possibilities of modification of habitat conditions of mature trees. (allowance 2/2)
3.Selection of plant material for planting nurseries decorative woody plants. (allowance 2/2)
4.Urban tree planting I. -- technological process of tree planting. (allowance 2/2)
5.Urban tree planting II. - technological process of replanting tree . (allowance 2/2)
6.Urban tree planting III. - post-planting tree care. (allowance 2/2)
7.Trees pruning I. -- anatomy of branching defects including, purpose of cutting, phytopathological context. (allowance 2/2)
8.Trees pruning II. - method of cutting, and timing. (allowance 2/2)
9.Trees pruning III. -- technology groups of cutting. (allowance 2/2)
10.Trees pruning IV. - practical training in cutting trees. (allowance 2/2)
11.Cable bracing I. - ensuring the tree crowns, dynamic and static cable bracing. (allowance 2/2)
12.Cable bracing II. - practical training ensuring the tree crowns, dynamic and static cable bracing. (allowance 2/2)
13.Determination of and price negotiation technological procedures - the use of descriptions and indicative prices for construction work (allowance 2/2)
14.Protecting trees during construction activities. (allowance 2/2)

Assessment methods:credit test and oral exam - the student have to prove his/her knowlege of basic techniques and procedures in arboriculture according to recognized standards of tree care.
