Aims of the course:The knowledge of theoretical bases and the practical use of current methods for climbing to tree crowns. Requirements for the occupational health and safety at work in tree crowns and searching for the evaluation of working hazards. Optimization solutions of the selection of technological procedures and personal equipment, cost, environmental and other aspects. Effective provision of the first aid and the rescue of persons from crowns of standing trees. Planning and organization of treewalking operations. If the subject graduate finishes the subject with evaluation "excellent" and obtains 90 points of 100 at a practical credit, he can obtain a certificate on the successful graduation of the subject.
Course contents:
1.Introduction into problems, basic conceptions, differentiation of possible climbing to tree crowns. History of the development of technologies of climbing to tree crowns. Limiting factors and specificities of given technologies. Legislative limitations of the work in the tree crown. (allowance 2/0)
2.Information on basic legislative regulations /rules at climbing to tree crowns and work in the tree crown. EP 2001/45/ES regulations, government order No. 362/2005 Gaz., government order No. 28/2001 Gaz. (allowance 2/0)
3.Construction and material of textile ropes. Technical properties of ropes affecting their use. Service life, care, protection and checking textile ropes. Specificities of using ropes of various constructions and material composition. (allowance 2/0)
4.The theory of using knots in arboriculture. Reduction of the lifting capacity of ropes at the use of knots. The theory of correct binding and using the knots. The classification of knots according to the method of use. Practical training in binding the knots. (allowance 2/0)
5.Differentiation of current rope techniques at climbing to tree crowns and work in the tree crown. One-rope and two-rope technique, advantages and disadvantages. Rise to the tree crown, work in the crown and safe descent. (allowance 2/0)
6.Personal protective means serving from fall. Safety harness, safety grippers and absorbers of fall, crash helmets, position equipment, pulleys, snap hooks and blocking equipment. Safety requirements and testing methods. (allowance 2/0)
7.The first aid at accidents related to arboriculture operations, particularly treewalking. (allowance 2/0)
8.Safety standards and rules at using other means for climbing tree crowns. Ladders, plateaux, methods of their use. (allowance 2/0)
9.Rescue of persons from trees. Methods of using potential climbs. (allowance 2/0)
10.Organization of work at treewalking operations. Coordination of operations and methods of communication, determination of signals. Competency and responsibility at defining endangered areas. Regulations at using tools in tree crowns. (allowance 2/0)
11.Credit test of the knowledge of safety legal rules. Credit test of knot binding. (allowance 2/0)

Assessment methods:Student has managed basics techniques for passing practical training. Each part is assessed by points. Maximum is 100 points, minimum for assesment is 70 points. After this, can students get on final oral exam.
