Aims of the course:Students will gain basic knowledge about the main types of production systems of livestock breeding. Students gain skills to asses the suitability of their housing. Students will be able to analyze factors affecting trade production of milk, meat, wool and eggs.

1.Introduction into the theory of production systems used for individual commodity of market production (allowance 2/2)

2.Milk trade production (allowance 10/10)
a.Milk trade production of cattle

c.Milk trade production of sheep

3.Meat trade production (allowance 10/10)

c.Meat trade production of sheep

4.Wool trade production (allowance 2/2)

Specific competences:
-Competence to apply the production system of cattle, sheep, goats, pigs and poultry
-Knowledge about farming practices of cattle, sheep, goats, pigs and poultry
-Knowledge about raising standards and conditions of cattle, sheep, goats, pigs and poultry
-Knowledge about the production of milk, meat and eggs
-Skill to assess suitable housing for cattle, sheep, goats, pigs and poultry

Assessment methods:Participation at seminars at least 80%.
Participation at field exercises at least 100%.
The course is finished by written and oral exam. The written exam takes 60 minutes and contributes to the overall result of 50%. The oral exam takes 30 minutes and contributes to the overall results also 50%. In both parts is required at least 60% success rate.
