Aims of the course:Getting the basic information and skills in the biochemical laboratory work.

2.Laboratory exercise 2 (allowance 0/4)
a.DNA isolation
b.RNA isolation
c.Analyse of green dyes

3.Laboratory exercise 3 (allowance 0/4)
a.Protein dialysis
b.Protein isolation
c.Electrophoretic determination of portein from blood serum

4.Laboratory exercise 4 (allowance 0/4)
a.Direct and gradual extraction of proteins
b.Calibration curves

5.Laboratory exercise 5 (allowance 0/4)
a.Enzyme kinetic
b.Calibration curves

6.Laboratory exercise 6 (allowance 0/4)
a.Determination of aminotransferase activity in a biological sample
b.Assessment of amylase activity

Learning outcomes and competences:
Generic competences:
-ability to work independently
-skilled at utilizing and processing information

Specific competences:
-Ability of performing of basic chemical laboratory methods
-Ability to determine enzyme activity in the sample
-Ability to understand and work with basic statistical quantities describing the experimental results
-Competences for practical isolation of biological macromolecules (DNA, RNA, proteins, ...)
-Knowledge of the methods of chromatography and electrophoresis
