Aims of the course:Students gain knowledge in the most important pathogens causing diseases on field crops, their biology, harmfulness and methods of integrated pathogens management. They gain skills of pathogen determination and designing of control means.

1.Cereal diseases and means of control (allowance 6/6)

2.Maize diseases and means of control (allowance 2/2)
3.Legumes diseases and means of control (allowance 4/4)
a.Viral and bacterial diseases
b.Fungal diseases

4.Diseases of root crops and means of control (allowance 4/4)
a.Viral, bacterial, and fungal diseases of potatoes
b.Viral, bacterial, and fungal diseases of beet

5.Diseases of oil crops and means of control (allowance 4/4)
a.Rape diseases
b.Sunflower and safflower diseases
c.Poppy diseases

6.Diseases of industrial crops and medicinal plants and means of control (allowance 4/4)
a.Diseases of flax
b.Diseases of hop
c.Diseases of medicinal plants

Learning outcomes and competences:
Generic competences:

-Ability of performing pathogen diagnostics
-Ability of using integrated pest and disease management methods
-Ability to assess the importance of harmful organism in agrocoenosis
-Competence to plan for pest management of farming subject
-Knowledge of disorders and pathogens of the main species of field crops

Assessment methods:Participation on seminars (80%). Three test of Latin terminology (20% of total mark). One seminar work (10% of total mark). Oral exam 3é minutes (70% of total mark) - knowledge of lectures, literature and determination of pathogens.
