Aims of the course:Gain of information about principles heredity and variability (specially for plants and procaryont). Teoretical and practiocal information for assessment of heritability of selected characteristics. Evaluation of efects of genotype and variability of environment. Skilled at utilizing and processing information. Ability to solve problems.

8.Linkage of genes. (allowance 2/2)
9.Heredity and sex. (allowance 2/2)
10.Gene, chromosome and genome mutations. (allowance 2/2)
11.Quantitative traits. (allowance 2/2)
12.Genotype and phenotype structure of population. (allowance 2/2)

-Ability to determine genetic and non-genetic components of variability
-Genetics application in plant breeding for yield, quality and resistance to pest and pathogens
-Knowledge of the environmental effect on genetic information

-Skills of utilization and application of basic molecular genetic methods

Assessment methods:The course is finished with written exam (30 min.) with min. 10 points from 17 points (60% of total mark) and oral exam (40% of total mark). Points from these parts are compulsory for final exam participation.
Written tests -- 10 written tests will be during the course. Maximum points for each test is 1, so maximal total receive points could be 10. For credit is necessary to have at least 6 points. Test will be written from 3rd to 12th week of the semester. Participation on the written tests and exercises at aforementioned weeks is compulsory.
