Aims of the course:The aim of this course is to acquaint students with correct nutrition and feeding techniques of farm animals oriented on large-scale production, so that the students can make qualified judgement about the need of feedstuffs production, effective treatment of feedstuffs and preservation and storage of feeds.
Course contents:
1.The function of nutrients in animal organism, requirement of nutrients and their sources. Feeding and digestibility of feeds. Factors influences nutrient digestibility. Requirement of quantity and quality value of roughage. Principles of effective use of roughage and evaluation of feeds. Preservation of feedstuffs. Principles of preservation by ensilage. Forage ensilability. Influence of agrotechnic and technology factors on fermentation progress and on silage quality. Silage preservatives and their use. Stages of fermentation process. Ensilage losses and losses after opening silo. Aerobic stability of silages. Evaluation of ensilage quality. Ensilage of primary kinds of forrage and food industrie's remainders. Storage and processing of roughage. Nutrition and feeding technique of cattle, sheeps, horses, pigs and poultry. Balance of feedstuffs. (allowance 0/0)

-Master process technology conservation and storing feedstuffs
