Aims of the course:The objective of this course is to acquaint students with methods, procedures and legislative framework for planning in the country. Students will acquire basic information on contemporary trends in land-use planning in the European and world context. Procedures for processing various types of land-use planning documentation are explained with practical examples. Understanding the landscape for regional development should be explained. Objectives, methods and forms of land use planning and opportunities for regional development will be presented.

Assessment methods:The successful assessment of the course is conditional on the participation in the lecture and consultancy blocks and and a seminar paper in the required range on selected topics. Seminar paper should demonstrate knowledge of the lectured topics and the ability to specify the problem and propose solutions in the field of landscape planning and sustainable development in the context of a particular region. Credit is obtained by submission and successful defense of seminar work (powerpoint presentations and discussion). The exam consists of a written (multiple choice questions) and oral, from the knowledge transmitted in the framework of lecture topics.
