Aims of the course:The course provides basic theoretical knowledge from the field of operations research, computer science, logistics, transport, means of transport and infrastructure. Deepening the knowledge gained is complemented by theoretical foundations of economic disciplines in transportation, management and marketing and their use in solving problems of transport processes.
Course contents:
1.Essential transport characteristics (allowance 6/4)
a.Dynamics spatial organization of industry in a regional perspective.
b.Position and importance of transport in today's economy and society, competitiveness of transport modes.
c.Effect of geographic conditions (location factors) for conveying and shape of the transport networks.
d.Localisation of routes and transport facilities.
e.Transport in the region. Transport as a city-forming element.
f.Accessibility and transport services in urban and rural region.
g.Structural and morphological features of transport networks.

2.Transport Technology and Control (allowance 8/4)
a.Basic concepts and transport position in society. Legislation traffic, transport and environment.
b.Transport and transport process, transport performance, structure transport aggregates.
c.Rail transport - characteristics, technical base, technology
d.Road transport -Characteristic, technical base, technology.
e.The inland waterway and maritime transport - characteristics, technical base, technology.
f.Air transport - characteristics, technical base, technology
g.Combined transport - characteristics, technical base, technology. points of disconnection
h.Logistics technology - transport-logistics center.

3.Couriers and delivery services (allowance 6/4)
a.The place and role of handling systems and storage in the logistics chain.
b.Handling and transport equipment.
c.Creating handling units and choice of technical means.
d.Warehouse management.

4.Logistics and environmental impacts. (allowance 6/4)
a.The place and role distribution logistics in the logistics chain.
b.Packaging (Wrap) in logistics.
c.istribution chain and distribution strategies.
