Profile of the programme:This study program is a continuation of the Bachelor's program "Waste Technology". It focuses on technology of material and energy recovery in waste treatment, and if need be on technology of waste disposal. The basis of the study is to develop and deepen the knowledge of the disciplines that form the theoretical foundation of the field and most importantly of the specialized discipline (see below), which constitutes the basis for asserting the students the application in the field of WM.
Key learning outcomes: Competencies of graduates are extended to other experiences, practical skills and highly specialized knowledge, based on the latest knowledge in the field of Waste Management.
The graduate is competent to independently manage processes and technologies of waste utilization and waste reducing, based on biological, chemical and physical processes and in this way integrate the knowledge of different disciplines.
The graduate is also competent to independently manage the management of waste processes and technologies and to take a responsibility of the contribution to professional knowledge and practice.
His skills are based on the Economic Management and passes to the level of Environmental Management and Environmental Audit of processes, technologies and operations based on the principles of IPPC.
Graduates will find careers at branches of production, business and research, at the state and local government, at Education and consulting.
Graduates are also competent to manage their own business in the field of Waste Management.
The graduate is competent to act as Waste Manager in accordance with applicable laws.
Occupational profile:The graduates will find their jobs in the entrepreneurial sphere as managerial workers holding an office of a "Waste Manager" according to the Act on Wastes. They are able to find work in the public administration and in advisory and consultancy companies.
Graduation requirements:Min. 120 ECTS, state final exam, defence of the master's thesis.
Access to further studies:Successful graduates may proceed to doctoral study programme.
