Profile of the programme:Field of Rural Development responds to the social need to get experts in programming, management and research as a comprehensive rural categories, including not only agriculture and forestry, but also the development of crafts, services, tourism and housing in the countryside. The aim of the study is to give students, if possible, a comprehensive view of rural settlements and rural landscape in terms of the principles of sustainability.
Key learning outcomes: The graduate of the domain Rural Development will be able:
to elaborate and analyze relevant information
to apply the gained technical knowledge in praxis
to identify problems in the landscape and rural settlement
to create projects and to organize their realization
to solve the problems both independently and in a team.
The graduate will assert in the state administration and self-government on all the levels, in agencies dealing with micro-regional development and with landscape, in research and pedagogical process.
Occupational profile:The graduates are able to find their jobs in state and regional administration dealing with rural areas at all hierarchical levels, in state and private project institutions focused on the questions of rural areas, in research and specialised education. Combining the natural and social sciences approach forms the predisposition of higher flexibility at the labour market.
Graduation requirements:Min. 120 ECTS, state final exam, defence of the master's thesis.
Access to further studies:Successful graduates may proceed to doctoral study programme.
