Aims of the course:The aim is to give students knowledge of the requirements of livestock on the environment in cases of animal production, reproduction and with regard to health.
Course contents:
1.History of animal hygiene (allowance 2/2)
2.Thermo-regulation of animal. Hygiene of pasture. (allowance 2/2)
3.Veterinary hygiene in relation to water. Sources of water and standards of potable water (allowance 2/2)
4.Principles of ventilation systems, light regimes (allowance 2/2)
5.The course considers the protection and welfare of animals (allowance 2/2)
6.DDD - sesinfection, desinsection, deratisation (allowance 2/2)
7.Hygieny of pasture (allowance 2/2)
8.Waste of animal housing - desinfection (allowance 2/2)
9.Feet disease (allowance 2/2)
10.Major contagious diseases and noninfectious diseases of pigs (allowance 2/2)
11.Major contagious diseases and noninfectious diseases of cattle (allowance 2/2)
12.Major contagious diseases and noninfectious diseases of ovine (allowance 2/2)
13.Major contagious diseases and noninfectious diseases of poultry (allowance 2/2)
14.Transport of animals (allowance 2/2)

-A capability to assess and evaluate hygiene of barn environment and to describe the most common diseases of farm animals
