Aims of the course:The aim of this course is to provide students a survey of methods of treatment oř wastewaters from individual branches of food industry and inform them about current legislation concerning this problem and water management of industrial plants and facilities.

1.Water System in Food Industry (allowance 2/1)

2.Water management authorities and their fields of activity (allowance 4/2)
 
a.Legislation

3.Quality of water used in food industry (allowance 4/2)
 
a.Requirements concerning supplied amounts of water and its quality in individual branches of food industry
b.Supply of water into industrial plants

4.Wastewaters from individual branches of food industry (allowance 6/3)
 
a.Specification of individual kinds of wastewaters and their properties
b.Origin of wastewaters
c.Scales of pollution
d.Reduction of amounts and pollution of wastewaters

5.Methods of treatment, disposal and re-use of wastewaters (allowance 4/2)
 
a.Mechanical treatment, self-purification process, stabilisation water reservoirs, stabilisation ponds, irrigation
b.Chemical cleaning, anaerobic wastewater treatment, biological filtration, activation, common treatment in municipal sewage treatment plants, tertiary cleaning

6.Use and liquidation of sediments (allowance 2/1)
 
a.Costs of wastewater purification

7.Control and supervision of water management in food industry plants (allowance 2/1)
 
a.Water-management inspections
b.Measuring and sampling, control points
