Aims of the course:The main aim of this course is to understand the importance of insurance and insurance industry in the financial system. In this course students receive both, theoretical and practical knowledge of insurance products in the non-life/life insurance branch. Students learn about activities of insurance companies, insurance market analysis and about legislation in the insurance industry.

2.Insurance as a transfer of risk (allowance 2/0)
3.Classification of insurance products (allowance 2/0)
4.Insurance products in the non-life insurance branch (allowance 6/6)
5.Insurance products in the life insurance branch (allowance 6/6)
6.Activities of commercial insurance companies (allowance 2/0)
7.Insurance market (allowance 4/0)
8.Legislation on insurance (allowance 2/0)

Assessment methods:Written test from the practical application of theoretical knowledge of insurance products and insurance mathematics. Students must obtain at least 60 % of possible points. Points are included in the overall evaluation of the course. In the final written exam from theoretical knowledge students must obtain at least 60 % of possible points. The final test can not be repeated more than twice.
