Aims of the course:The course is aimed to provide basic orientation in the Czech legal system and legal order with focus on the knowledge of basic provisions of selected disciplines both in public law (constitutional law, administrative law, criminal law) and private law (civil law, land law, labour law). Practical examples of types of legal relationships characteristic for these disciplines are given as well.
Course contents:
1.Selected problems of the public law (allowance 14/14)
a.Fundaments of the legal theory (function of law, formal and material sources of law, legal rules&emdash;structure, legal relationships), rule of law
b.Fundaments of the constitutional law (state form, state organs, territorial structure of the state, fundamental human rights and freedoms)
c.Fundaments of administrative law (state government and self-government, organs, forms and types of powers executed, administrative proceedings)
d.Fundaments of criminal law (criminal responsibility of natural persons, penalties and protective measures, structure of the Criminal code and its Special Part, fundaments of criminial proceedings)
e.Fundaments of land law (land register, territorial planning, Land Register Office&emdash;powers, registration procedures)

2.Selected problems of the private law (allowance 14/14)
a.Fundaments of civil law (principles, structure, legal act and its prerequisites, right of ownership, possession, servitude, contractual obligations and torts)
b.Fundaments of labour law (relations employers--employee, labour contracts, labour conditions, labour liability for damages)
c.Selected standards in labour safety and health protection (industrial accidents, fire protection rules)

-forming of legal solution of problems by utilisation of the legal norms in force
-orientation in legal environmrnt, especially for development of trading skills

Assessment methods:Passing of the module occurs through awarding of credit by the means of electronic test in e-learning. The test consists of 40 questions, each of them assessed by 1 point. Minimum requirement for successful passing is 54 % of the maximum total points of the e-test
