Aims of the course:
Course contents:
1.Sociology as a science of society, the formation of sociology, definition, relationship to other sciences and practices, special sociological disciplines. (allowance 4/3)
2.Social reality and ways of knowledge. Naturalism, psychologism and sociologism. Sociology as a science of social facts (E. Durkheim). Sociology as a science of social behavior (M. Weber). (allowance 2/0)
3.Basic paradigms of sociological thought. The theory of consensus, conflict, interpretive sociology. The issue of power. (allowance 2/1)
4.Society stratified and structured. Social structure, social stratification, social status and its indicators, social and cultural capital, social mobility. The problem of equality (allowance 2/2)
5.Culture, enculturation, acculturation, social subculture and counterculture. Social deviation, anomie. Social control, socialization as a universal instrument of social control. (allowance 4/1)
6.Sociological Research. Methods and techniques of sociological research. Phases of a sociological research. Sociometry and sociotechnic. (allowance 2/4)
7.Social psychology in the system of sciences, structure of psychological sciences, application of social psychology in the working environment (allowance 2/0)
8.Personality in the social context` development of personality, socialization, self-perception, social perception, mistakes of social perception (allowance 2/1)
9.Social communication (nonverbal and verbal communication, theory of attribution) (allowance 2/2)
10.The individual and the group and their mutual interaction (social facilitation, social loafing, conformity, obedience, group processes, styles of leadership) (allowance 2/0)
11.Attitudes (concept of attitudes, attitudes change, stereotypes, prejudices, racism, measuring of attitudes) (allowance 2/0)
12.Pro-social behaviour and aggression (altruism, theories of aggression, stress and coping with stress, conflicts and their solving) (allowance 2/0)

-Student can identify the characteristics of interpersonal social behaviour
-Student knows the principles of research in social sciences

-Students schould be have knowledge in use of psychological methods for managerial work.
