Profile of the programme:The students in the bachelor degree of the study field „Quality of Plant Food Sources“ should acquire both the theoretical knowledge and practical skills in fields of quality management of plant food sources and post-harvest technologies. Of technological subjects, the main emphasis is put to problems of fresh fruit and vegetables storage, methods of preservation, wine-making technologies and production of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. Great attention is also paid to chemical and sensory methods of quality evaluation of plant food products. Economic subjects and a good knowledge of management and marketing of foodstuffs represent another important pillar of this study programme.

Knowledge of quality parameters of raw materials and plant food products
Knowledge of assessment methods of raw materials and plant food quality
Capability of food sensory analysis
Knowledge of quality management and internal auditor of quality systems
Knowledge of storage and processing of horticultural products
Knowledge of preservation of plant food products
Orientation in the food law system
Knowledge of economic principles and marketing of plant food sources
Capability of independent professional and creative work
 
Occupational profile:Graduates will find jobs in manufacturing enterprises, processing businesses, storage facilities, beverage industry, supermarkets chains, marketing organisations of food commodities, and control laboratories of governmental authorities.
Graduation requirements:Min. 180 ECTS, state final exam, defence of the bachelor thesis.
