Profile of the programme:Study programme Horticulture covers all aspects of production technologies of edible and ornamental horticultural crops, knowledge of assortments of horticultural plants. Programme profile consists of important ratio of voluntary courses, which make deeper insight of graduates in selected aspects of horticultural production. Important area is dedicated to the diploma thesis, which contribute to the competencies of graduates in the research.
Key learning outcomes: Knowledge of assortments of edible and ornamental horticultural crops.
Knowledge of production technologies of horticultural crops.
Knowledge of agro-climatic factors important for plant production.
Orientation in trading of horticultural products.
Knowledge of qualitative parameters of production.
Orientation in law acts related to the horticulture and trade.
Knowledge of environment-friendly alternative production processes.
Ability of lead the team.
Knowledge of scientific and professional terminology in world language.
Capability of independent professional, creative and scientific work.
Occupational profile:Graduated can find the positions in management of horticultural farms, in trade organizations with horticultural commodities, in education and research.
Graduation requirements:Min. 120 ECTS, state final exam, defence of the master's thesis.
Access to further studies:Successful graduates may proceed to doctoral study programme.
