Profile of the programme:This interdisciplinary course combines scientific, technical, managerial and creative disciplines into one coherent whole. It equips students with knowledge of wood construction and design, wood structure and composition, wood properties in wooden constructions, wood preservation, durability and the life span of timber constructions, working procedures, ecology of the manufacturing process, organization and economics. The programme also explores health and safety issues, economics, testing, etc. The aim of the programme is to provide a learning environment in which students are able to incorporate ecological knowledge and the requirements of sustainable development into design and realization of wood building construction. Graduates will acquire a sound understanding of various construction materials, technologies, construction, safety, operating procedures, ecology of the manufacturing process, organization and economics. Graduates may pursue career paths in small and middle-sized design agencies, construction companies, education, consultancy, service industry, or in the trade sector.

Occupational profile:Graduate gets knowledge of materials, skills of the fields of technology, design, safety, working practices, production ecology, economics and organization. Graduates have the potential to use acquired knowledge and skills in engineering design offices and small and medium-sized manufacturing and implementation companies may operate in the preparation of production design, construction and implementation of vocational education in counseling activities in services and trade in the area of the market environment.
Graduation requirements:Min. 180 ECTS, state final exam, defence of the bachelor thesis.
