Profile of the programme:Graduates will gain a general overview of Economics and Company Management, and have specific knowledge of technical particulars and technological procedures of agricultural production and food production companies. Graduates are able to economically manage businesses having a good understanding of production processes of agricultural companies and legislative specifics of agricultural business in the Czech Republic. Graduates will be ready for independent and team work, they will have knowledge of statistical methods to process economic data, and to find their way in modern company information systems. Graduates will have relevant language skills to work in an international environment, they will have goods skills for finding their way in a complex economic and legal context of agricultural business using modern information resources.
 
Key learning outcomes: to develop students´ knowledge of economical, managerial and social sciences in order that they may analyse and
understand economic and social behaviour.
to familiarise students with the principles and evolution of economic processes and their influence on society.
to teach and promote methods by which economic and managerial processes are investigated, monitored and controlled.
to teach and to promote quantitative techniques to give students modern and perspective tools for decision making support.
to provide students with the personal skills and professional perspective to enable them to be effective
in the management of farms, plants, factories, enterprises, companies, and institutions.
 
Occupational profile:Graduates of this study program are able to work as line managers or middle managers of the enterprises in the agribusiness. Graduates are also prepared for the economic positions in departments of the institutions within agro-food industry. Due to their specialization, the graduates can relevantly participate in roles such as economic analytics, advisors or consultants in the area of agricultural commodities and its processing. Complementarily, graduates of this program obtain the knowledge for establishing own firm and doing business in the agriculture or food production.
Graduation requirements:Min. 180 ECTS, state final exam, defence of the bachelor thesis.
Access to further studies:Successful graduates may proceed to master's study programme.
