Aims of the course:The main subject goal is to acquire and deepen knowledge of all general language competences (reading, writing, listening, speaking).
Course contents:
1.Week 1 (allowance 0/2)
 
a.Phone call. Numerals 1-20, 30, 40 (nominative). Declension of feminine nouns ending in -а/-я in singular. 2nd conjugation (verbs ending in --ить)

2.Week 2 (allowance 0/2)
 
a.Time and periods of time in Russian. Plurals of nouns in the 3rd, 6th and 7th case. Past tense. The polite form. Formation of надо, нужно + infinitive

3.Week 3 (allowance 0/2)
 
a.Learning a foreign language. 1st conjugation: verbs ending in --еть. Conjugation of reflexive verbs

4.Week 4 (allowance 0/2)
 
a.Family. Cardinal numerals 20-199 (nominative). Declension of masculine and neuter nouns in singular.

5.Week 5 (allowance 0/2)
 
a.Revision. Nationalities. Vocabulary revision. Prepositions

6.Week 6 (allowance 0/2)
 
a.At the hotel. Irregular verbs мочь, помочь. Declension of adjectives (hard and soft adjectives). Ordinal numerals. Expressing dates. 1st conjugation: verbs ending in --овать, -евать

7.Week 7 (allowance 0/2)
 
a.Giving directions in the town. 1st conjugation: verbs ending in --нуть. Irregular verbs идти, ехать

8.Week 8 (allowance 0/2)
 
a.Housing. Declension of feminine nouns ending in a soft consonant. Verbs with an alternate stem consonant

9.Week 9 (allowance 0/2)
 
a.Food. Irregular verbs хотеть, есть, пить. Declension of nouns ending in -ий, -ия, -ие. Imperative

10.Week 10 (allowance 0/2)
 
a.Shopping. Irregular verb дать. Infinitive questions. The 1st and the 2nd case of basic noun paradigms in plural. Numerals 200-1000, миллион, миллиард (nominative)

11.Week 11 (allowance 0/2)
 
a.At the doctor's. Particle ли. Nouns ending in --ж, -ш, -ч, -щ, -ц. Irregular verb принять

12.Week 12 (allowance 0/2)
 
a.Vocabulary revision. Verbs in the present and in the past tense: summary. Nouns: summary. Verb prefixes and their meanings

13.Revision of lessons (allowance 0/2)
 
a.revision of key grammatical structures and vocabulary

14.Summary test (allowance 0/2)
 
a.a summary test testing acquired knowledge of grammar and vocabulary

Assessment methods:n the continuous assessment students have to gain a minimum of 70 points out of a maximum of 100 points to be awarded credit. In the 5th and 10th week of the term students take a test that has 20 questions. Each test makes a maximum of 20% of the total marks. Students can gain a maximum of 20 points per each test. In the 14th week of the term students take a final credit test consisting of 60 questions in an electronic form. The test makes a maximum of 60% of the total marks. Students can gain up to 60 points at most. Attendance at the seminars is mandatory.
