Profile of the programme:Study of Animal Husbandry follows a long and successful tradition. At present, the study program consists of two stages - Bachelor's and Master degree. Education in Bachelor's degree consists of core theoretical subjects and core subjects that help graduates prepare for studying the Master's degree, as well as assert themselves in practice.
 
Key learning outcomes: The graduates have the ability to define and describe fundamental anatomical and morphological properties of farm animals with regard to their performance traits.
The graduates have knowledge of principal life manifestations of farm animals and the capability to define the most important requirements concerning their welfare.
The graduates have the ability for analyze and solve problems concerning reproduction and artificial insemination of cattle, sheep and goats.
The graduates have the ability to analyze and solve concerning production of consumer and hatching eggs, cow milk and poultry meat, pork and beef.
The graduates have the ability to apply the knowledge of feedstuffs when calculating and optimizing feed rations under practical conditions.
The graduates have the ability to define the quality of foodstuffs in relation to animal husbandry.
The graduates have knowledge of principal (zoo)hygienic requirements concerning animal husbandry.
The graduates have the ability to define optimum conditions for the application of machinery, equipment and constructions for farm animals.
 
Occupational profile:The graduates usually find jobs in agricultural primary production, breeding and nutrition services, agritourism, agricultural research, trade organisations, state administration and entrepreneurial sphere, and also in agricultural education.
Graduation requirements:Min. 180 ECTS, state final exam, defence of the bachelor thesis.
Access to further studies:Successful graduates may proceed to master's study programme.
