Profile of the programme:Studies of Horse breeding and Agritourism will prepare students for the following spheres of activity/professions: breeder of horses, racehorse and sporthorse trainer , horse riding instructor. In these areas the students will apply theoretical knowledge from the fields of genetics and breeding of horses, general zootechnics, equine reproduction, nutrition and feeding of horses, and training horses for work and special applications.
 
Key learning outcomes: Ability to apply knowledge concerning the horse breeding and the horse husbandry in practice, complex knowledge in the most important areas of the use of horses.
Ability to apply knowledge concerning the structure and function of horse body in practice, ability to apply knowledge concerning the structure and function of the horse body in practice.
Ability to analyse and solve problems reproduction biotechnics of horse, a capability to analyse and solve problems nutrition of horse.
Ability to exploit gained knowledge for business aimed on horse breeding and tourism.
Ability to exploit gained knowledge and abilities for providing of services in agrotourism.
 
Occupational profile:The graduates are able to work in breeding associations, riding and hippo-rehabilitation and breeding centres and in the sphere of education and research. Also, they have knowledge to work in the sphere of horse breeding and utilisation and they are able to carry out business in rural areas in the field of travel industry and rural tourism. While working as entrepreneurs, they are ready to create an environment in which they will make use of specific natural conditions of the regions in the Czech Republic and in which they will support those activities that are typical of rural areas.
Graduation requirements:Min. 120 ECTS, state final exam, defence of the master's thesis.
Access to further studies:Successful graduates may proceed to doctoral study programme.
