Profile of the programme:Education is focused on creative and design of furniture, utility parameters of products, furniture zbožíznalství and production technologies, together with basic information on the management of production, sales of furniture and developments and trends in interior design. Graduates are able to hold specialized technical functions in the creation and production of furniture, holding office furniture specialists in government or business organizations whose activities are focused on products for furniture manufacturing.

Occupational profile:Students will develop creative design skills and receive a thorough grounding in wooden furniture making, utility values, product evaluation, and production technologies, supplemented by the underpinning knowledge of production control, furniture trade, and the latest interior design trends. The aim of the programme is to prepare graduates for various positions within the furniture industry in which they will be able to effectively utilize wood as a renewable resource, contribute to the reduction of oil consumption, and improve the quality of housing and working conditions by providing high quality furniture. Students will gain a thorough knowledge of quality assessment of furniture products, with respect to material type, construction, function, design, destination, and somatic requirements of users. Graduates will be able to work in a variety of positions in the area of creative furniture design and construction, production planning, production technologies and marketing; they can apply for junior management posts within furniture enterprises and architectural practices, or within public, commercial and other organizations within the sector of furniture design, consultancy, and marketing.
Graduation requirements:Min. 180 ECTS, state final exam, defence of the bachelor thesis.
